Hi, I’m Cassie! I began travelling at 27 and haven’t looked back.

Since arriving alone in New Zealand in March 2020, I have situated myself in Auckland where I have been working full-time.

Alongside sharing my favourite North Island destinations, you can also find guides for destinations in Australia, Japan, Indonesia and Southeast Asia, and The Balkans.

Although I don’t advocate travel at this time, I hope my earnest posts on everything from solo backpacking to mental well-being on the road, will help prepare you for trips in the future.

Keep safe out there everyone.

Something I've learned from 4 years of travel is t Something I've learned from 4 years of travel is that,
the best view isn't always the one from the top,
the hardest path isn't always the most rewarding,
and the steepest peak isn't always the most exciting.

Sometimes a kilometer pathway can have an expanse of views more rewarding and inspiring than any other. Sometimes a 20km hike ends up kinda... Meh. You're proud of your sore feet and aching bones, but didn't necessarily learn anything new.

What I'm saying is
that there's no heroism in always taking what looks like the 'biggest adventure' on paper. Sometimes the simplest of country roads is the most worthwhile to walk down.

Life will always grant us new ways to get our comfort zone, so there is no need to force ourselves into it everyday. Adventure can be found in the most unexpected of places, and challenges along the easiest paths.

And there is no better or worse path to take: the hard or easy. Life will find us either way.
Find someone who looks at you like I look at pigs Find someone who looks at you like I look at pigs and goats. 🥰

🐐🐷🐐🐷

With 4 months down and 3 weeks to go, I have to make the most of these beautiful animals.

Volunteering has been exhausting, dirty, itchy, stressful... and my absolute best travel job yet!

Which photo is your classy favourite?

And which animals would you like to see more of before I leave? ❤️

Toffeeeeee!! If your face doesn't look this goof Toffeeeeee!!

If your face doesn't look this goofy while watching goats at play, then you've obvz hit 2nd in the genetic lottery. 😅

1st place in the genetic lottery Obvz goes to the goats. 🐐👌

Toffee was rescued after being found stuck in a tree with a nasty wound. We still lubricate the wound a couple of times a week using emollient and a 'finger con.dom'. 🧑‍⚕️

I have another photo of Toffee headbutting me 😂 which I'm tempted to also post here because it's so funny and cute hahaa. Even if I had to leave the mini goat paddock straight after so we don't train him and to think that headbutting is OK. 💙

Is anyone else obsessed with goats??
